Laura Unsworth, Helen Richardson-Walsh and Sophie Bray were also on the scoresheet as Danson took her international goals tally to 80 with her second in the match.
Japan's only goal came courtesy of a nicely-taken deflection from Akiko Kato in the third quarter.
